Yannick Bolasie and Alex Iwobi react after £10m Everton exit confirmed

The wheels are certainly in motion at Goodison Park as Everton’s summer transfer business gets underway.

On Merseyside, rumors abound as expected arrivals and departures take place in the upcoming days, weeks, and months.

Tim Iroegbunam, a former midfielder for Aston Villa, has already arrived, and Iliman Ndiaye, a longtime target, is anticipated to follow.

The 19-year-old winger for Newcastle United, Yankuba Minteh, is reportedly being pursued by other teams, but he is also said to be keen to join the Blues.

The Toffees will probably need to make exits in order to abide by financial standards because they have a lot of irons in the fire.

And on Friday night, one departure was verified.

Yannick Bolasie and Alex Iwobi react to Ben Godfrey’s Everton exit

Ben Godfrey, who was signed for £25million back in 2020, has now completed a £10million move to Serie A side Atalanta.

The switch comes after the 26-year-old reportedly saw a move fall through in January. Lyon were also believed to be interested in the former Norwich City man.

Godfrey, who was entering the last 12 months of his contract, wrote on Instagram: “When I joined the club in 2020, every at the club from the fans, staff and players made me feel welcome.”

He added: “I’ve made some great memories at this football club and will always appreciate my time there, and I feel like I can leave knowing I gave 100%. Now, it’s time to move on to my next challenge. Thank you for all the support..all the best. @Everton.”

Former Toffee Yannick Bolasie wrote in the comments, “Good luck, bro,” and Alex Iwobi added an emoji.

Demarai Gray, James Garner and Dele Alli also sent messages to the 26-year-old.

Further exits should be expected at Goodison Park

More transfer negotiations should take place over the weekend as teams must balance their accounts by the end of June.

Whether Eden will sell once more before the end of the month is still to be seen.

Still, more exits will most likely occur throughout the summer window.

The most likely player to leave is Madou Onana, a midfield player from Belgium. Reliable reporter Alan Myers reported that the 22-year-old, who is now abroad on overseas assignment, is the subject of “serious” interest.

Moving Onana on could prove to be wise business if the Toffees can generate about £50 million, especially considering that financial regulation is expected to play a big part this summer and into the upcoming season.

Of course, Jarrad Branthwaite’s future is something else to closely monitor, but happily, Everton seems to be being reticent about their valuable player.
