Premier League rivals now step up talks for attacker who is keen on Everton transfer

Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are now intensifying talks over a move for an Everton transfer target who is reportedly keen on moving to Goodison Park.

On the blue side of Merseyside, there is no shortage of rumors, as the Toffees are rumored to be interested in a number of deals, both inside and beyond the club.

Long-term objectiveAccording to reports, Iliman Ndiaye is almost certain to transfer to Goodison Park, where he will give Sean Dyche the much-needed striker backup in the event that Dominic Calvert-Lewin leaves.

The Englishman has been strongly linked to a transfer to Newcastle United, and several commentators have advised the Toffees to consider selling.

Newcastle is also connected to another arrival, while Everton may have just suffered a setback in their efforts to sign Yankuba Minteh.

The 19-year-old Gambian, who made an impression when on loan at Feyenoord last season, is a target for the Toffees, according to a report published by Fabrizio Romano on Friday, June 29.

Additionally, it’s thought that Minteh prioritizes moving to Goodison Park over other offers of interest.

Nevertheless, Newcastle is reportedly stepping up talks with Nottingham Forest, regardless of the winger’s desires.

According to a recent report from The Times, Minteh may be moving in the other direction, as the Magpies are reportedly interested in Anthony Elanga.

At first, it appeared that Elliot Anderson would be moving to the City Ground, but Eddie Howe felt that losing the powerful young player would be too great a loss.

Given that the two teams are still in talks, Everton might have suffered a transfer setback.

Clubs rush to meet June 30 PSR deadline

It seems that several clubs have reached an unofficial transfer deadline. To avoid being sanctioned—much like Everton were—clubs must balance the books before the end of June.

Academy players have become the centre of much of the transfer business. Clubs can generate 100% profit for the accounts, while the buying club can spread payments out.

Lewis Dobbin heading to Aston Villa and Tim Iroegbunam to Everton were examples of the two clubs looking to find safe passage through financial regulation.

Similar deals have taken place between Aston Villa and Chelsea in recent weeks.

With the rules as they are, swap deals involving younger players seem likely to be commonplace unless legislation changes occur.
