Burnley is still looking for a new head coach despite what appears to be a rejection from Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Since Vincent Kompany chose to leave the Clarets at the end of the season in order to assume the helm at Bayern Munich, the team has been searching for a new head coach.

That decision looks to have left the Lancashire side on the backfoot when it comes to finding a new manager, as their search has taken longer than supporters probably expected.

It appeared as though Burnley would name van Nistelrooy as their new manager last week, but their hopes of luring the Dutchman to Turf Moor were dashed when Manchester United approached him about joining their coaching staff.

The Clarets have lost out on their goal and will now need to hunt for another applicant as a deal to bring the former Manchester United striker back to Old Trafford appears all but confirmed.

As the team gets ready for the upcoming season and the board wants to get off to a strong start, Burnley will be looking to replace its manager as soon as feasible.

It has been claimed by Sacha Tavolieri that Burnley are hoping to announce their new head coach next week.

Burnley would be disappointed by the appointments of Scott Parker and Craig Bellamy.

Ben Livingstone, a Burnley fan commentator for FLW, would be upset if the team chose to hire Craig Bellamy or Scott Parker as their new manager.

The Burnley supporter continues by saying that, in his opinion, the team ought to search overseas for a new manager, naming Malmö manager Henrik Rydstrom.

“I think the first choice is a bit more difficult now,” he said to FLW. There were a tonne of alternatives when you looked at it a few weeks ago.

“Steve Cooper, Danny Rohl before he signed his deal, there were so many and, honestly, now it is becoming a bit of sort of who is actually left.

“There is a lot of talk between Scott Parker and Craig Bellamy, but I think that would be very disappointing if it was either of them two.

“So, right now, you have got to look abroad, maybe Henrik Rydstrom, the Malmö manager. I would be very, very disappointed, as I say, if it were either Parker or Bellamy.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s decision to accept the assistant management position at Manchester United is acceptable, but it says a lot about him in my opinion if he would choose someone else’s success to his own.

“He could really make a difference at Burnley.” You may have witnessed Vincent Kompany join Bayern Munich, who knows. In other words, he comes here, helps us get promoted, has a successful Premier League season, and then is hired by Manchester United.

Who’s to say that doesn’t happen, though, given the possibility that he might now follow Erik ten Hag wherever ten Hag goes?

“It is understandable, but I don’t really understand.” It’s evident why, but personally,

Burnley should stay away from appointments with Craig Bellamy or Scott Parker.

Burnley’s board is likely in a situation that they didn’t expect or want to be in, as they had identified Ruud van Nistelrooy as their man to become their new manager, but it looks as though he’s turned them down.

The Clarets will now have to start over and consider different managers, some of whom they may not have liked in the first place.

Although it appears that the club’s options are dwindling, Scott Parker and Craig Bellamy are still viable choices in light of their association with the opening.

Parker is a former Premier League and Championship manager, and Bellamy has been Kompany’s assistant at Turf Moor. Although they both have respectable backgrounds, Burnley shouldn’t be searching any further for a manager.

Bellamy’s hiring may be risky, and Parker might not be the best choice, but it seems that Burnley supporters want someone a little more exciting, perhaps an appointment similar to Kompany.
