Footage shows Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris mingling with fans at home shirt launch

Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris was at the club shop for the launch of the new 2024/25 home shirt on Friday.

Sunderland fans flocked to the club shop on Friday to purchase their new home kit, which was unveiled for the upcoming 2024–25 season.

After a 30-year break, the Black Cats and German apparel company Hummel have reunited, and Sunderland supporters are loving the new shirt’s look and feel.

After several difficult months behind the scenes at the Stadium of Light, the debut of this brand-new, well-liked home shirt helps to relieve some of the tensions between the fan base and the team.

Strong criticism was directed at sporting director Kristjaan Speakman and owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus for their four-month hunt for a new manager.

After Michael Beale was fired in February, Regis Le Bris eventually made his way to the team.

Additionally, a few of Sunderland supporters had the opportunity to talk with their new manager on Friday during the home kit launch.

Louis-Dreyfus, Speakman, and Le Bris were all spotted at the Stadium of Light on Friday as the new 2024/5 home shirt was put on sale.

And Le Bris could be spotted chatting with supporters and having his picture taken with several of them.

Le Bris was also spotted talking with Speakman about the design of the home shirt, whilst Louis-Dreyfus was spotted handing out pink slices to supporters who waited in line to buy the new home shirt.

The home shirt sold out online within two hours of being on sale.

Sunderland reconnecting with fans after tough manager search process

The entire manager incident truly caused anger among Sunderland supporters, who chastised Speakman more than anyone else.

Being primarily responsible for football-related affairs at the club, he was understandably the target of criticism as Sunderland’s search for a new manager continued to stall.

However, having Speakman, Louis-Dreyfus, and Le Bris present in the club shop on Friday would have been a pleasant experience for supporters and their actions would have had a significant impact.

Now that the club has multiple concerns with their playing squad and multiple players sought in the Premier League, Speakman and Le Bris need to get to work in the transfer market.

Wearside is going to have a busy summer. Though, following a very disappointing 2023–24 Championship campaign, it might also be a very thrilling one under a new manager.
