Everton still working on Yankuba Minteh transfer as Newcastle United look to sell

Everton have a “50/50” chance of acquiring the services of Yankuba Minteh this summer, according to Alan Myers.

On June 29, the journalist appeared on X to respond to a query regarding Everton’s aspirations to lure Minteh to Goodison Park.

But Myers did add that a number of things would have to happen before a deal could be reached.

The reporter also stated that, given Brighton & Hove Albion’s intense desire, a deal will probably be reached until the transfer window closes or the winger finds another team.

Why Everton want to sign Yankuba Minteh from Newcastle

After joining the Rotterdam-based team last summer, Minteh was labeled as “very dangerous” by former Feyenoord star Willem van Hanegem.

He was also hazardous. The attacker spent his spell with Arne Slot playing in 37 games and contributing to 17 goals in total.

This not only demonstrates Minteh’s skill but also explains why Everton is still in the running for his transfer.

It also helps that despite interest from other teams, it was claimed on June 28 that the Newcastle starlet’s preferred destination was Everton [Fabrizio Romano], however Brighton’s interest may have changed that.

The Merseyside club has already been connected to a number of players this summer, giving the impression that the Toffees are getting ready for a season of transition in 2024–2025.

Furthermore, no player is safe this term given that Ben Godfrey has now left the team for new pastures.

It remains to be seen if Everton will thrive and move up into the upper half of the table, or if they will find themselves in yet another relegation struggle.
