Tottenham readying hijack of Barcelona move for winger who scored goal you must see to believe

Barcelona has already begun signing talks with the winger that Tottenham is expressing “concrete” interest in, and the player’s incredible goal from the previous campaign shows he will win over the supporters of any team he plays for.

Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao was Barcelona’s main summer transfer target on the wings. However, switching to the Camp Nou is all but impossible due to the sheer cost of making the shift.

Williams reportedly has a €58 million release clause. After accounting for Williams’ high pay demands and agent expenses, Barcelona is unable to afford the transfer.

Instead, reports in Spain initially floated the idea of Barcelona rescuing Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.

But later, it was revealed that Hansi Flick’s team was focusing on Jaden Philogene, a winger for Hull City. In reality, negotiations have already begun on a first season-long loan to Barcelona.

22-year-old Philogene is in high demand after a successful campaign with Hull. The right-footed winger finished with 12 goals and 6 assists; one of his strikes will never be forgotten.

Hull finished seventh last season, just missing out on a play-off spot.

Philogene has already shown he is too good to play in the Championship for another season, and Football Insider predicts a summer transfer is very possible.

But rather than move to Barcelona, FI suggest a switch to a top half team in the Premier League could be on the agenda.

Tottenham are reportedly showing ‘concrete’ interest in Philogene, while West Ham cannot be discounted from the race either.

Last year, Philogene signed a £5 million contract to join Hull from Premier League team Aston Villa. After making frequent appearances, Philogene has significantly developed as a player and is now in high demand, proving that the risk to drop a division paid off.

Next year, Barcelona will compete in the Champions League, and Tottenham can provide football in the Europa League.

Sadly, West Ham’s new manager Julen Lopetegui lacks experience playing in Europe to assist entice Philogene to the team.

Philogene’s future in north London could very well lie with Tottenham if they are prepared to fork over actual cash and reject Barcelona’s informal loan intentions.
