Newcastle United transfer could happen in ‘next 48 hours’ after £40m deal agreed & huge Everton claim

Yankuba Minteh, a Newcastle United winger, could depart the club before the end of this week.

Newcastle want to sell the 19-year-old winger for about £40 million after a successful loan spell at Feyenoord in 2023-24.

Everton has been linked with a deal for the winger, but talks have stopped when Newcastle walked out of negotiations for striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Minteh is currently negotiating a move to Goodison Park.

Romano shared the following: “Yankuba Minteh, one to watch in the next 24/48h as Newcastle are still trying to sell him due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.”Olympique Lyon offered the finest bid, but Minteh still prefers Everton as a priority. NUFC and Minteh are in contact and will make a decision soon.”

Newcastle are reluctantly looking to sell Minteh before the Premier League 2023-24 Profitability and Sustainability calculations deadline of Sunday. The Magpies must raise monies in order to comply with PSR for the new season.

The Gambian winger joined Newcastle from Danish club Odense last summer for about £7 million. He spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Feyenoord, where he scored 11 goals, one of which came in the Champions League.

The club is now attempting to sell him for a substantial profit, with Minteh expressing a desire to play in the Premier League.

“I only know that one day I will play in the Premier League,” Minteh remarked when questioned about his future earlier this year.”
