Following Manchester United’s £25 million bid to sign Barcelona midfielder, Fermin Lopez reacts.

Fermin Lopez is adamant that he wants to stay at Barcelona and is “not interested” in moving to Manchester United.

The 21-year-old had a fantastic breakthrough season, scoring eight goals in La Liga, despite only receiving his first-team debut for Barcelona in August of last year.

In only his second appearance for the national team, the midfielder on Monday came on as a second-half replacement in Spain’s 1-0 victory over Albania. This earned him a spot in Spain’s roster for Euro 2024.

Manchester United, which made a bid of €30 million (£25 million) to Barcelona earlier this month, seems to have taken notice of Fermin’s exploits.

Fermin said to Relevo, “I don’t read the press, I’m not really interested,” in response to a straight question regarding United’s offer.

“My desire to be at Barcelona is the most important thing, and that’s all I can think about.” Nothing more.

When asked whether he had a conversation with Hansi Flick, Barce’s new head coach, Fermin replied, “He wished us all luck in the first game, but that’s about it.”

“Just a few messages, nothing more.” He’ll probably watch the Euros and monitor me closely.

Speaking just before he left, Xavi pleaded with Barcelona to hold onto Fermin.

Xavi stated, “We were informed that his loan [at Linares] had been very good.”

‘He had been someone I liked for a few years. I could tell he was prepared to compete when we gave him a go during the preseason. He has played for a long time.
