‘Contract already signed’ as Aston Villa pull off sensational transfers

Three new acquisitions for Aston Villa are about to be finalised, while Douglas Luiz is about to finish his significant departure from the team.
In the first several weeks of the summer 2024 transfer season, West Midlands chiefs have been working diligently to ensure Villa complies with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). The Brazilian midfielder for Villa, who is now representing his nation in the Copa America, has apparently signed a five-year contract after receiving a visit from a Juventus physician in the US. Samuel Iling-Junior and Emiliano Barrenechea are rumoured to have successfully finished their individual medical examinations and are on their way to joining Unai Emery’s team from the Turin club.
In a different £37.5 million agreement, Romano claims that Ian Maatsen of Chelsea has signed a six-year contract within the last 48 hours and would shortly join Villa as a player. The Dutchman would thus be prepared for an official declaration. He was a member of Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands team that advanced to the Round of 16 at Euro 2024.
The four players involved will add to Villa’s already hectic summer. Last weekend saw the formal signing of Lewis Dobbin from Everton and Tim Iroegbunam moving the other way to Goodison Park.
