Al-Nassr now willing to sell Sadio Mane to sign £50m+ Aston Villa star

As Al-Nassr is reportedly considering a bid to sign one of Unai Emery’s attacking players, who they believe can partner Cristiano Ronaldo and replace Sadio Mane, Aston Villa might now face another transfer blow with Douglas Luiz already scheduled to depart.

Aston Villa transfer news

Emery has already been dealt a severe blow by Luiz’s impending departure. The defensive midfielder is expected to go from Villa Park to Juventus, with Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling-Junior coming the opposite way. But even with these additions, Emery will find it difficult to replicate Luiz’s influence on his team, particularly considering that they were in the top four in the Premier League the previous year.

Attempting to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, however, those in the Midlands may yet suffer another frustrating exit. According to The Daily Mail, Al-Nassr are willing to sell Sadio Mane to sign Moussa Diaby from Aston Villa just one year after the winger joined the Midlands club for a reported £52m.

According to reports, the Saudi Club thinks the former Bayer Leverkusen player can take Mane’s spot as Ronaldo’s teammate for the upcoming campaign.Diaby had a difficult first season at Villa Park. He had a strong start to the season, but as it went on, his play declined. A year later, he may have the opportunity to exit the Premier League before Villa supporters have truly experienced him at his peak.

Having said that, it is unclear if Villa would be prepared to let Diaby go this summer after already appearing to bid adieu to Luiz.
