£20m Newcastle star potentially drops hint over his future with cryptic Instagram post

It looks like Eddie Howe may not get his wish after all this summer as Newcastle United look to refresh the squad. Eddie Howe spoke about his desire to keep Callum Wilson at Newcastle next season calling him an important player and saying that he’d be too expensive to replace. However, that hasn’t stopped the 32-year-old being linked with a move away from St James’ Park before the new season gets underway. Moves to Saudi Arabia or West Ham have been mooted so far for the £20million former Bournemouth man, but nothing has progressed beyond rumours as yet.

Callum Wilson has got fans speculating

But Wilson shared something on his Instagram feed last night that has Newcastle supporters licking their chins.

Wilson has previously used cryptic posts to spark conversation among followers with his four-picture attempt in January, which ultimately failed. This time, he has repeated the tactic by sharing an image with the caption, “Growing sometimes means leaving people behind.”

While it’s obvious that anything may be being hinted at, some fans believe he’s moving on.

An £18m bid for Wilson would be too good to turn down

Despite his age and injury history, Wilson could still cost nearly as much as Newcastle paid for him if he were to transfer this summer, with West Ham reportedly seeking a £18 million move.

Given the potential benefits to Newcastle’s budget, it would be quite tough to decline that offer, should it come in.

Wilson might accept his fate if that offer came, according to this piece.
