What I’m saying here is…An update on Eberechi Eze’s intended strong ties to Tottenham is provided by Fabrizio Romano.

As the transfer window closes, Tottenham Hotspur is stepping up its efforts to sign an attacking prospect. Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace is one of their main priorities, as Spurs are considering a summer transfer.

Eze’s contract with Palace expires in June 2027, but Spurs are apparently willing to pay his £60 million release clause in addition to a further £8 million in possible add-ons, for a total reported value of £68 million.

This would be more than Tottenham’s previous record transfer cost for Tanguy Ndombele from 2019, which was £63 million with add-ons.

In a recent YouTube post, renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano offered insights on the circumstances.

Although he acknowledged that the Spurs are interested in Eze, he said that the talks are still in the early stages.

Romano reported that Crystal Palace are keen to retain the England international, and the deal’s progression will depend on whether Spurs meet the release clause. He emphasised that the transfer is not imminent and discussions are ongoing.

Romano said:

“I see a lot of questions from you folks regarding Eberechi Eze, but from what I know right now, nothing is happening at an advanced stage. His continued presence is still desired by Crystal Palace. It will rely on the release clause because it is included in his contract as well. However, as of right now, it’s still not something that will happen today or anytime soon.

Eze’s recent selection to the England team for the upcoming Euro 2024 competition attests to his calibre. Even though he missed a month of action due to a muscular injury last season, the attacking midfielder’s skills were clearly visible.

Despite this, he made 27 Premier League games, scoring 11 goals and dishing out four assists, demonstrating his effectiveness on the pitch.

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, is keen to bolster the team in order to challenge for the Premier League title the following year, and Eze’s style of play is thought to fit perfectly with his philosophy of football.
