Transfer News: Gnonto to Everton, Kean to Fiorentina, Martinez to Inter

Everton are reportedly reviving their interest in Leeds United’s Wilfried Gnonto after Lewis Dobbin left.

Last week, the Toffees confirmed that academy graduate Dobbin had completed a permanent transfer to rival Premier League club Aston Villa for an undisclosed amount.

Everton has re-signed Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds for the 2024-24 season, but may want to sign another great player from the Championship team.

Everton are reportedly interested in bringing Gnonto to Goodison Park.

The Toffees were close to signing the Italy international last summer, but the deal fell through. Sean Dyche’s team has been monitoring the attacker’s progress at Leeds.

Gnonto, who has three years left on his contract at Elland Road, scored nine goals and assisted three times in 44 appearances for Leeds last season, helping the Whites finish third in the second tier and losing in the playoff final to Southampton.

Josep Martinez on verge of joining Inter

Serie A champions Inter Milan are allegedly close to acquiring custodian Josep Martinez from Genoa.

The 26-year-old, who was recently linked with Manchester United, joined Genoa on loan from RB Leipzig in 2022 before making the move permanent last summer. He kept eight clean sheets in 36 top-flight games in 2023-24.

Inter and Genoa have agreed to sign Martinez for €13.5 million (£11.4 million) plus €1.5 million (£1.3 million) in add-ons, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Martinez is claimed to have agreed on personal terms for a long-term contract, and all necessary documentation are’ready’ for the transfer to be completed.

Martinez’s arrival coincides with the departure of keeper Emil Audero, who will return to Sampdoria after spending last season on loan at San Siro.

Fiorentina keen to complete Kean deal

Fiorentina has agreed to permanently sign striker Moise Kean from Juventus.

The 24-year-old has spent the last three seasons with the Old Lady, although he struggled with injuries in 2023-24 and was limited to only eight starts and 11 substitute appearances in Serie A, failing to score or assist once.

Kean appears to be looking to restart his career elsewhere, as journalist Fabrizio Romano believes Fiorentina has agreed to recruit the Italian from Juventus for an initial €13 million (£11 million), which may climb to €15 million (£12.7 million) with ‘simple’ additions.

According to Romano, the transaction reportedly included ‘challenging’ add-ons that might bring the total package to €18 million (£15.2 million).

Fiorentina have increased their pursuit of Kean with the departure of Roma loanee Andrea Belotti to Como. Jonathan Ikone and Nicolas Gonzalez’s futures are unknown due to alleged interest.
