Tottenham offers Newcastle player Richarlison in addition to money; winger is more “enticed” by Spurs’ comeback than Palace

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Tottenham has made Richarlison an offer for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak in addition to cash.

Despite losing out on Champions League play toward the conclusion of the season, Spurs are hoping to build on a successful debut season under Ange Postecoglou.

As they get ready to let up to 11 first-team players depart during the summer transfer window, the north London club is reportedly planning to “consider bids” for Richarlison, according to a report published at the end of May.

The Brazil international paid almost £60 million to join Tottenham from Everton in 2022, but the striker has had difficulty establishing himself as a reliable starter for the team.

Richarlison’s performance in the Premier League last season was far better than his debut season, when he only managed one goal and three assists in 27 games. This season, he finished with 11 goals and four assists in 28 games.

However, it seems that Tottenham is willing to let him depart North London come summertime, as Italian journalist Di Marzio has revealed that Spurs have made the 27-year-old an offer.

Speaking on Tottenham’s interest in Newcastle striker Isak, Di Marzio disclosed that the Magpies had turned down an offer from Tottenham that included cash and Richardson for the Sweden international.

On his personal website, Di Marzio stated: “Isak has also had bids from Newcastle. The club has already turned them down, including one from Tottenham that included Richarlison along with a balancing payment.

Tottenham and Crystal Palace, two other Premier League teams, are rumored to be interested in Sporting Lisbon winger Marcus Edwards.

The former England Under-20 international is reportedly available for between €20 and €30 million during the current transfer window, and reports from Portugal indicate that Palace is hoping to sign Edwards this summer.

According to reports, Edwards has “not particularly been enticed” by the prospect of moving to Crystal Palace; instead, a return to Spurs, where he rose through the youth ranks, would be a more desirable transfer.

Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest has also been linked to the north Londoners, but Chris Waddle, a former attacking midfielder for Tottenham, believes the 24-year-old would be better suited moving to Newcastle.

“I think Newcastle would be a better fit for him, if he had to choose between Newcastle United and Tottenham,” Waddle stated. He tends to play as a number 10 or to assist the strikers, and I believe he would be a good addition to Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes in Newcastle’s midfield.

“I don’t see Maddison playing in the role he would like to at Tottenham. Does Gibbs-White suit several positions for Tottenham, or is he more of a squad player? I don’t think he should be benched at his next team, and if he signed with Spurs, that may be dangerous. He wouldn’t start on the squad above James Maddison, in my opinion.
