Tottenham offers a “superb” player from Man City an informal £30 million contract.

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur has made an unofficial £30 million offer to buy a new player from Manchester City for the summer.
Spurs have already signed their first summer player.

Even though Ange Postecoglou is presently abroad at Euro 2024 as a commentator, he has stated that his squad will need to change over the next few months. The Australian declared in a speech in May, “We need change. There must be change.

“You cannot desire to change your direction and anticipate that the same individuals will follow you. It is simply not going to occur. There has undoubtedly been some player development during the past two windows, but that’s not what I mean when I say there’s still a long way to go. Saying you’re going to make significant changes and expecting everyone to follow you on that path is not possible.

It’s not that I’m not trying. It simply means that we will train in a specific manner, play in a certain manner, and think in a specific way. That’s also not to everyone’s taste. Whether it’s Liverpool or Arsenal, if you look at the start of their trips, the team is nearly unrecognizable by the time they succeed or win the league.”

Tottenham has already made their first summer signing, bringing back Timo Werner from RB Leipzig for the duration of the season on loan, with an even cheaper option to buy. Spurs may be able to acquire the German attacker in 2025 for about £8.5 million, according to reports.

With reports that Spurs are winning the battle to recruit Lutsharel Geertruida from Feyenoord and are offering the right-back a north London deal, it looks like Postecoglou is also planning to make additions at the back of the team.

The Dutch defender may fetch up to £25 million in a transfer, but Tottenham is reportedly considering other full-back options as well. A recent report suggests one of them is a new player.
Yan Couto is proposed by Tottenham.

Three teams are reportedly fighting to recruit Yan Couto from Manchester City, including Tottenham, according to a story from Spain that surfaced 48 hours ago. Aston Villa, a Premier League competitor, and Girona, a La Liga team, are also interested in the Brazilian, who spent the last two seasons on loan in Spain.

Spurs are said to have expressed a great interest and to have proposed a deal worth up to €35 million (£30 million), suggesting that Daniel Levy and company may have extended an informal offer.

City would prefer not to sell to Villa or Spurs, their two main competitors, but money could talk, as Girona might find it difficult to match the offers made in England. Couto, a 22-year-old right-back with the ability to go farther forward when necessary, has a contract that expires at the Etihad Stadium in 2025.

The Brazilian, who Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig referred to as “superb,” joined City in 2020 but hasn’t played for Pep Guardiola yet. Based on the appearances, Spurs may get the opportunity to sign him if they win the transfer window.
