Nottingham Forest following Evangelos Marinakis transfer plan as new target emerges

Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad is keeping an eye on recent deals involving Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.

Nottingham Forest is allegedly keeping an eye on talented midfielder Jordan James as they carry out their summer hiring binge.

The Reds have already recruited versatile youngster Eric da Silva Moreira and midfielder Marko Stamenic since the transfer window opened earlier this month. However, Stamenic will play for Olympiacos, another team under Evangelos Marinakis’ ownership, on loan during the upcoming season.

Prioritizing outgoings monitoring is probably Forest’s main focus prior to the August 30 deadline. To strengthen Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad, they do, however, also plan to recruit other players.

When it comes to new hires, the team will most likely follow the strategy that owner Marinakis set forward earlier this year. In an interview, he mentioned that the Reds, with a few noteworthy exceptions, had tried to sign young players whose value may increase.

James from Birmingham City is one example of such. The Telegraph claims that because Forest wants to nurture young players, the 19-year-old is apparently on their “radar”.

With the Blues, the Wales international advanced through the ranks. He played in more than 100 games since making his first team debut in 2021.

Moreira, who signed a four-year deal last week, is seen as another strong prospect. In a deal thought to be valued at £1.25 million, the 18-year-old relocated from St Pauli to the City Ground.

The youthful player may play right back, wing-back, or winger.Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson stated of the newest recruit, “We have a number of exciting young players in our squad already, and we are pleased that Eric is another with high potential who we are excited to add to our ranks.”
