“I want to thank all of the QPR team for their support this past season,” he stated. I had a great time at the club.
Begovic joined the R’s on a one-year contract last summer after leaving Everton, and despite appearing certain to finish in the bottom three, he helped Marti Cifuentes’ team escape relegation by preserving 13 clean sheets.
The Bosnian’s contract is about to expire, and Celtic, the Scottish champions, are apparently interested in signing him as a replacement for Joe Hart, who recently retired.
Begovic appeared in six games for Ipswich overall during his short-lived 2009 loan from Portsmouth. Since then, he has played for teams including Chelsea, AC Milan, AFC Bournemouth, and Stoke City.
