Ipswich Town beat Sheffield United, Stoke, Hull City, Blackburn to sign Aston Villa’s

It is with absolute surety that Allnigeriasoccer.com can confirm that Ipswich Town, the new boys in the English Premier League, are about to announce the signing of Abubabe Onuchukwu, the Nigerian midfielder from Aston Villa.

This is just an official confirmation that the deal has been made; the player, who was born in 2005, has already signed a two-year contract that will keep him with the Tractor Boys until June 30, 2026.

Onuchukwu’s contract with Aston Villa expires on July 1, 2024, the day he officially joins Ipswich Town as a player.

Ipswich Town have pulled off a massive transfer coup by bringing him to Portman club, beating several Championship and League One clubs to the signature of the versatile central midfielder.

Onuchukwu was asked to trials by Shefield United and Hull City in addition to Ipswich Town, but he had already decided to stick with The Blues to pursue his career.

He was approached by League One team Peterborough United, Blackburn Rovers, and Stoke City, but none of them were able to recruit him.

Onuchukwu will play as a left-back and left-sided central defender for Ipswich Town, despite the fact that he was primarily used as a centre midfielder for Aston Villa.

Prior to the 2022–2023 season, he signed a scholarship deal with the Lions after beginning his career at Aston Villa at the U13 level and progressing through the youth teams ranks.
