Everton star wanted to play with Ademola Lookman and was the target of bids after rejecting a deal.

Everton has been one of the busiest teams so far this summer, but they will need to fight to hold onto some of key players.

Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa has joined the Toffees, and Lewis Dobbin has been allowed to go in the other direction.

Additionally, they turned down offers for Jarrad Branthwaite from Manchester United and Daniel Calvert-Lewin from Newcastle; however, none of the proposals came close to Everton’s asking price.

Lyon and Atalanta make bids for Ben Godfrey

As of right now, HITC can disclose that the club has received various bids for defender Ben Godfrey, another player of Sean Dyche’s team is desired.

HITC can disclose that both Serie A team Atalanta and French powerhouse Lyon have made approaches estimated to be in the neighbourhood of £10 million; nevertheless, such sums will not be sufficient to secure his services.

According to insiders close to Goodison Park, Everton would have to bring in almost £15 million before they would reluctantly allow him to depart.

Godfrey has never been a regular under Sean Dyche and has no intention of committing to the team under the current manager, but Everton’s leadership wants him to stay and has offered the England international a new deal.

Everton ready to sell Godfrey who has refused new deal

With just 12 months remaining on his contract, Everton has come to terms with the fact that, similar to Calvert-Lewin, they will probably need to sell this summer in order to prevent him from walking away unpaid the following summer.

According to HITC, Atalanta and Lyon are prepared to submit stronger offers. Atalanta would prefer Godfrey to play alongside to former Everton prodigy Ademola Lookman.

Additionally, HITC is aware that several Premier League teams are keeping an eye on Godfrey’s circumstances in order to decide whether to intervene.Everton was the subject of talks in January between Newcastle and Tottenham, and both clubs are still looking to add a defender this summer.
