Chelsea join race to sign Leicester star who thrived under Enzo Maresca

Chelsea has contacted Leicester over a possible deal for Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, talkSPORT reports.

Last season, the 25-year-old played a key role in Leicester City’s elevation to the Premier League, scoring 12 goals and assisting 14 others.

Dewsbury-Hall has been at Leicester since he was eight years old, but he could be moving to west London this summer.

Chelsea has expressed interest in the midfielder, who is valued at £35 million and would rejoin with head coach Enzo Maresca if signed.

According to talkSPORT, Brighton are still interested in him after a failed January transfer.

Dewsbury-Hall made 129 appearances for Leicester across all competitions, making his senior debut in January 2020.

In 2023/24, he was voted the Foxes’ Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Season, as well as part of the Championship Team.

Dewsbury-Hall won the Championship after playing 49 games under Maresca, who has since gone to Stamford Bridge.

The Italian’s appointment as Chelsea’s next head coach was confirmed in early June.

Given Maresca’s success with Dewsbury-Hall, it would not be surprising if the two collaborated again.

Chelsea has already confirmed two signings this summer, with centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo joining on a free transfer.

The Blues also announced that they have reached an agreement with Brazilian side Palmeiras for Estevao Willian, who will join next summer.
