After being let go by Celtic, Sead Haksabanovic left in shock and sent a message to the supporters.

Celtic winger, Sead Haksabanovic, has now left the club and joined Swedish champions Malmo this afternoon.

Haksabanovic was brought to the team by Ange Postecoglou in 2022 to add width to the Celtic attack, but after missing a season due to injuries, he allowed his resentment to get the best of him.

The Montenegro international turned to social media at the start of Brendan Rodgers’ second stint at Celtic to express his dissatisfaction at not being “valued” at the team, a move that would mark the beginning of the end of his Hoops career.

Haksabanovic struggled to establish himself as a valuable member of the Championship team, thus he was sent on loan to Stoke City, where he made 21 appearances but only scored once and created one.

Returning to Celtic in the summer, Haksabanovic has now sealed his Parkhead exit and has penned a goodbye message to the Hoops support.

After finalising his departure from Celtic, the 25-year-old forward joined the Swedish champions Malmo. In a statement to the supporters, he appeared to acknowledge that he was taken aback by his dismissal and used social media to further criticise Brendan Rodgers.

“My time at Celtic has come to an end, earlier than I thought, expected, and wanted, but some other people had another opinion & I gotta respect that,” Haksabanovic posted on Instagram.

“Celtic is truly about the players, the staff, and the supporters, so I want to thank them for that. Together, we created some wonderful memories, and I will always adore Celtic.

“Best of luck, and Celtic is f—–g huge wherever they go. Best wishes for the future.

During his first full season under Ange Postecoglou, the winger who was born in Sweden was unable to make a consistent impact in the first team.

Haksabanovic had 42 appearances for Celtic, however he never played the entire ninety minutes in a green and white uniform. Instead, he was either used as an impact player or didn’t have much of an impact when he started. [Transfermarkt]

With just five goals and four assists, the player did not perform well. Now that he is no longer with the team, Haksabanovic will try to revive his faltering international career in addition to his home career.
