Jack Butland tipped for Rangers stay after £15million transfer admission

Jack Butland tipped for Rangers stay after £15million transfer admission.

Dan Bardell has suggested that Jack Butland will stay this summer despite interest, while applauding Rangers for their efforts to sign Liam Kelly.

The Gers custodian, who may depart this summer, has been excellent since joining on a free transfer from Crystal Palace in July 2023.

That being said, a move to sign Kelly from Motherwell has been brewing for a few weeks and may materialise following Scotland’s elimination from the European Championship.

Journalist Bardell from Sky Sports and talkSPORT has evaluated Butland’s alternatives and given the Light Blues credit for their efforts in the transfer market.

Bardell stated, “I just don’t see where Butland could go for £15 million,” in an exclusive interview with Ibrox News.

“I don’t really see that happening this summer, which makes the custodian market so difficult because it is a domino effect once another team sells a custodian.

“I don’t believe he can go someplace that would be an improvement over the Rangers.

“It’s unlikely that a newly promoted Premier League team would pay that much for a custodian, but they might look at Butland.”

“The Rangers should bring Kelly in any way possible so they have a backup plan in case he leaves this summer.”

Rangers could keep Jack Butland this summer

With some excellent saves, the Englishman was fantastic for Rangers last season and frequently stood out as one of their most vital players.

For the most part, Butland was helpless, even though the Gers lost out on the Scottish Premiership and Cup.

As teams make business decisions later in the transfer window, this form will undoubtedly have an impact.

It might be challenging for Butland to decline the offer and turn it down if a Premier League team is in need of a custodian.

That is a big if, and Philippe Clement will be hoping he can hold onto his best custodian for the upcoming campaign without receiving a bid.

Kelly will undoubtedly be a valuable asset if he signs, but as things stand, he will start the next season ranked second, and that is probably where it will remain.
