As the player inks a contract with a new team, Aston Villa is accused of misusing the PSR “loophole.”

Bryan King has accused Chelsea and Aston Villa of finding a “loophole” to get themselves around the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.

The ex-Villa scout feels as if the two clubs are trying to help one another with their financial worries.

It comes after Fabrizio Romano reported via X on Tuesday (25 June) that Omari Kellyman was set to sign his Chelsea contract ahead of completing his £19million move to Stamford Bridge.

And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes there are ulterior motives behind the transfer.

“These clubs are trying to find a loophole for their financial problems,” King said.

“Villa and Chelsea are both struggling with PSR problems, and it looks as if they’re trying to sort them out between themselves.

Omari Kellyman is close to joining Chelsea from Aston Villa

Kellyman’s relocation to Stamford Bridge appears to be almost finalised; just an official announcement is still pending.

It is difficult to remain sceptical of the agreement given that he is expected to cost the Blues £19 million.

Kellyman hasn’t exactly destroyed Premier League 2 and hasn’t even kicked a ball at the senior level.

Consequently, it’s unclear how he came to be worth £19 million.

Everton, Villa, and Chelsea—three teams with established financial difficulties—all seem to be doing a lot of business with one another.

Therefore, it is not hard to think that these deals might be about more than what first appears.
