Ange is a “dangerous” prospect that the Spurs are reportedly interested in signing.

Following a rollercoaster of a season in which they nearly qualified for the Champions League, Tottenham Hotspur will be making a lot of deals in the summer.

Ange Postecoglou’s team had a great start in North London, but owing to injuries and a decline in performance, they ended the season in fifth position. Star signing James Maddison was left out of the Euros because of his poor play.

Fortunately for him and the manager, the most recent player who has been strongly linked to a move to N17 would be the ideal midfielder to assist the Englishman in finding his form again and propel the Lilywhites back up the league the following season.
News about Tottenham Hotspur transfers

Spurs are reportedly interested in Juventus’ star midfielder Weston McKennie and have already had discussions with the Serie A team about his possible transfer, according to a recent report from Football Insider.

Football Insider reported earlier this month that the Lilywhites had “jumped ahead” of Aston Villa and established themselves as favorites to sign the American. However, the most recent report indicates that the Villans had given up on the player due to wage demands.

More good news for the Lilywhites: the report indicates that further discussions have taken place around a £15 million cost because the 25-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2019. This suggests that they won’t have to pay a high price for the player.

Although McKennie’s name may not be the most thrilling and may remind Premier League fans of Leeds United’s relegation, he has been a huge performer for Juventus this past season and might be the ideal man to play next to Maddison.
Why Maddison would love having McKennie as a teammate

I am aware that McKennie’s final performance in England was, to put it politely, horrible, but it was a difficult platform for him to prove himself.

The American was brought in by fellow countryman Jesse Marsch for a half-season in an attempt to keep the Peacocks from being relegated in the 2022–2023 season, but he seemed completely out of place in England’s first flight. Joe Wainman, a broadcaster and Leeds supporter, even went so far as to dub the American a worse acquisition than Jean-Kevin Augustin.

But the USMNT player shown last season that his bad run in West Yorkshire was only a phase.

Returning to Turin, Marsch nicknamed the “dangerous” ace, who made 38 games, 33 of which were starts, 10 assists, and helped the Old Lady win the Italian Cup. Oh, and in March, he helped the US win the CONCACAF Nations League.

It is evident that he has made an impact on people in Italy as well, as former Juventus great Mark Iuliano called him a player who “puts a lot of heart into it” and who “never gives up.” He also has “a good sense of position.”

He would be the ideal midfielder to play in the left-eight with Maddison if he had these attributes. The former Foxes star would be able to concentrate on what he does best—making plays—because of his ability to move all over the field, put out fires, and launch attacks.

After returning from an injury, the 27-year-old only managed one goal and four assists in 17 games after starting the season on fire with three goals and five assists in his first ten complete league appearances.

Blaming it on exhaustion could be a bit simplistic, but if he has a highly mobile player next to him who is ready to run more, it will only benefit him in the long run. McKennie’s defensive midfield contribution is one of his main strengths, according to WhoScored.

In the end, this might not be a move that excites fans, but considering his season-long success and the incredibly low cost, it would seem reasonable for Levy and company to follow forward with it.
