Newcastle makes a joint bid with Calvert-Lewin for a “outstanding” star ace.

John Percy, a dependable journalist, reports that Newcastle United has put up an offer for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and another “outstanding” Premier League player this summer.
News about transfers to Newcastle

Eddie Howe and the Magpies are now working hard to bring in new players as they attempt to recover from a largely underwhelming 2023–24 campaign. Since leaving Manchester United two years ago, Andreas Pereira has made an impression in a Fulham shirt, and it is even said that the manager wants to sign him before the 2024–2025 season begins.

Calvert-Lewin, an Everton striker who is closing in on a move from Goodison Park to St. James’ Park, is also seen to be a viable possibility for Newcastle. With just four goals in 11 appearances for England, he might feel that, at this stage of his career, it is the perfect time to enjoy a new challenge.

Brajan Gruda, a winger for Mainz 05, is another player the Magpies may add during the summer transfer window. This might be an interesting trade given that the 20-year-old has a high ceiling for a player of his caliber.

The Crystal Palace and England player Marc Guehi has also been linked to Newcastle, who need to bolster their defense given the long-term injury absences of Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman.
Kilman is being offered a player-plus-cash deal by Newcastle.

Percy said on X that Newcastle had made a player-plus-cash bid for Wolves center defender Max Kilman, but Molineux had turned it down.

“Excl: Newcastle offers Wolves defender Max Kilman a player-plus-cash deal. Elliot Anderson is believed to be the player, but the idea is turned down. After West Ham’s approach was rejected on Friday, interest in Kilman (homegrown/good appearance record) has grown.”

Kilman, who will enter the team with a wealth of experience despite still being just 27 years old and having plenty of playing years left in him, might be just what Newcastle is seeking for at the center of its defense.

With 151 appearances for his current team, the Englishman has been a pillar of Wolves’ defense for a while. Former captain Conor Coady has also praised his former teammate in the past, saying:

“He was excellent in my opinion, but I wouldn’t expect anything more from him. He is a pleasure to be around and an excellent professional. I believe you witnessed this today as he pays attention to the management and picks up knowledge from the young players who have been playing there for a while. I was ecstatic for him because he had experience playing a few games and it was evident tonight, in addition to the games he played last season.

Kilman, who earns £50,000 a week, might believe that moving to a team that is vying for European football the following season is the proper option, and Newcastle seems like a perfect fit in that regard. It would also help his chances of being called up to the England side.
