Medical Cleared: Aston Villa and Everton strike another agreement – Sources

Everton winger Lewis Dobbin has completed his physical, according to Football Insider sources. His new team will be Aston Villa.

The deal will be completed the following week since the 21-year-old and Villa have reached a thorough understanding and he is prepared to leave Goodison Park.

The West Midlands giants are expected to make the announcement soon, aiming to increase his offensive options for the next campaign.

Dobbin is poised to leave Everton after making only one Premier League appearance in the entire previous campaign.

Lewis Dobbin set for Aston Villa move after Everton PSR concerns

Dobbin has been a resident in Merseyside for the past 10 years, having obtained a professional contract prior to joining the club’s academy in 2014.

The Stoke-born winger played 54 games for Derby County on loan during the 2022–2023 season, scoring five goals and dishing out six assists.

The former England youth international played for Everton in 20 senior games, the latest of which being a 2-0 victory over Chelsea in December of last year.

But now Dobbin has agreed to an agreement to join Villa this summer as the Merseyside giants attempt to raise some money to support their profit and sustainability (PSR) situation.

The Premier League partnership has been negotiating other moves together since midfielder Tim Iroegbunam moved to Goodison last week.

Football Insider revealed exclusively on June 18 that Everton had accepted a bid for the 20-year-old. First reported on June 20, Iroegbunam was due for a medical examination on Merseyside.

Both top teams are supposedly approaching their allowed loss cap, hence the two deals should help them with their PSR issues.
