After a spectacular season with Barcelona and a few thrilling performances at Euro 2024, Lamine Yamal has emerged as the star of Spanish football.
The Barça winger has received a great deal of acclaim from prominent figures in Spanish football; the late David Villa even referred to him as a “special player.”
Alejandro Grimaldo’s advice to Yamal
Alejandro Grimaldo, Yamal’s teammate from Spain, was recently requested to give the speedy winger some guidance.
But instead of giving Yamal any guidance, Grimaldo called him a “much more talented” football player. He continued by praising the child’s maturity.
He is far more talented than I am, so I’m not sure what to say in the end. Grimaldo remarked, “He’s a phenomenal player with no boundaries, and he’s also shocked me” (h/t Mundo Deportivo).
Grimaldo, who was also a product of La Masia, was a major member of Bayer Leverkusen’s championship-winning team this past season. He played for Barcelona till 2016.
Even though Yamal came from an academy that has historically turned out a lot of players, Grimaldo said he had never seen someone with Yamal’s calibre.
“It’s something I’ve never witnessed firsthand, and regardless of his age, he adds something special to every practice and game,” he continued.
Grimaldo is not the only Spain teammate who has praised Yamal in recent weeks, as was previously stated.
As long as the Spanish beauty keeps captivating spectators with his performances at Euro 2024, the number will only rise.
