Major Newcastle signing advances with Everton star set to reject new contract and push for transfer

According to sources who spoke with TEAMtalk, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, an attacker for Everton, is planning to decline a new contract offer from Goodison Park in favor of a move to Newcastle United.

Newcastle has had their eye on Calvert-Lewin for a while, and this year they might finally land their man. His Everton contract is about to expire, which puts him at a turning point.

According to information gathered by TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent Fraser Gillan, Calvert-Lewin has other ideas and plans to move to Newcastle this summer, even though the Toffees would be happy to lock him down with better terms, as TEAMtalk disclosed last month.

The 27-year-old is reportedly of interest to both parties, and Newcastle is first in line for him. He may give Alexander Isak, the Magpies’ star striker, some competition.

Since Callum Wilson’s contract expires in 2025, Newcastle will likely consider him a sellable asset and replace him with a fresh center-forward, as TEAMtalk has continuously reported. Wilson has had success during his time at St. James’ Park.

As a result, Calvert-Lewin is one of Newcastle’s main targets, and he obviously recognizes their interest.

His eight years on Merseyside would come to an end in a transfer when he joined Everton in 2016 from his childhood club, Sheffield United.

He became a full-fledged England international, albeit his nation hasn’t given him a cap since 2021.
