Injured Newcastle United star shares positive update after ‘high risk’ ankle setback – huge boost

Newcastle United opted against risking Tino Livramento during the final weeks of the 2023-24 Premier League season

Tino Livramento, who is getting close to recovering from an ankle ailment, has posted photos of himself being worked out.

The highly-regarded rookie for Newcastle United did not play in the final two games of the season because Eddie Howe did not want to take a chance on the right-back. Throughout the campaign, the Magpies were cautious about Livramento’s level of fitness because, only a few months prior to his arrival, he had recovered from a catastrophic ACL injury.

The 21-year-old’s abilities were nevertheless shown to Toon supporters, most notably during the Carabao Cup matches against Manchester United and City. When Newcastle was at its strongest, Livramento’s longest tenure with the team lasted from October to the new year.

He has already been touted as the future at right-back and Kieran Trippier’s long-term successor. So far, injuries have been Livramento’s kryptonite, with Howe deciding against playing him during the run-in.

“Howe stated, “Tino is still having trouble with his ankle. “For that reason, he refrained from entering the field. Really, he was there in case of an emergency. Is he able to play this weekend? I’m not certain.

“We most definitely don’t want to cause him more long-term issues. Though it’s a bit risky, he is theoretically fit enough to enter the pitch. In order to avoid giving him a longer-term issue, we want to be careful, but what transpires in the future largely depends on the other players I have available.
