Club owner confirms Everton ‘target’ can leave this summer – but on one condition

The defender for Hull City, Jacob Greaves, is allegedly coveted by West Ham, Ipswich Town, and Everton.

The owner of Hull City has granted defender Jacob Greaves, who is linked to Everton, the all-clear to depart.

The Toffees are rumored to be interested in Greaves during the summer transfer window. If Jarrad Branthwaite is sold, Sean Dyche’s team may become more interested, but Manchester United will never be able to match Everton’s asking price.

Greaves was selected for the 2023–24 Championship Team of the Season despite having made 177 appearances for Hull. He contributed to the Tigers’ seventh-place finish in the standings and three-point elimination from the playoffs.

The 23-year-old has drawn interest from several Premier League teams, including Everton, West Ham, and recently promoted Ipswich. Furthermore, Greaves, whose contract has two years left on it, is free to leave the Yorkshire team by just asking to do so, according to Hull owner Acun Ilicali.

Ilicali stated, “These will come soon, I think,” in an interview with the Hull Daily Mail. I keep hearing from Tan (Kesler, vice-chairman) that there have been some modest talks about them and that there will be some real bids in the next two to three weeks.

Tan Kesler feels as though there will be some bids, and he says, “I will never sell them, in my opinion. I will emphasize this once more.” The only thing that will make me sell them is if they approach me and express their desire to go.

“I told Keane Lewis Potter not to go; if he had stayed that year, it would have been beneficial for both of us, and he could go after a year.” Once more, regarding these lads (Greaves and Jacob Philogene), their future always comes before my advantages if they feel like they’re going to play and succeed for me.

“Greaves desires to be a Premier League player. He just told me that he wanted to play in the Premier League, what a nice youngster. He’s such a great character. He truly is a captain. From here, I speak to him. Greaves, you are needed. We won’t stop him if his mind and spirit are entirely with another club, but you are so good, please stay with us.”
