Alex Scott evaluates his first season in the Premier League with Bournemouth

In the latter stages of his first Premier League season, Alex Scott expressed his happiness with his performance, saying, “I’ve been showing the best version of myself.”

After spending £20 million to sign the Cherries from Bristol City last summer, Scott made 27 appearances for the team in 2023–24, contributing four assists and two goals. He also made his debut for the England under-21 team.

Due to midfield rivalry in the squad, two knee ailments hindered his progress and limited him to 11 league starts.

In April and May, Scott received three consecutive starts, including victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Midfielder Scott told the Daily Echo of his increased playing time in the last few weeks of the season: “Obviously I had a little bit of a tough spell at the start of the year, February and March sort of time.”

“I believe that ever since the April 21 match against Aston Villa, I’ve been playing at my best, whether I’m starting or coming off the bench.

“I’m really pleased with how this season, my first in the Premier League, ended.”

The 20-year-old continued, saying, “I really enjoy it.

“I’ve really liked it, and I’m ready to go again next season, but there have also been tough times with the injuries, and recovering from them was always going to be difficult.

“Hopefully, in my second year, I can really get going.”

On Saturday, August 17, Cherries will kick off their Premier League campaign away at Nottingham Forest.
