Serie A giants enter race for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg following his Euros masterclass

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg looks set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and now there is even more interest from Italy for the Danish midfielder, as AC Milan join the race to sign him.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is expected to leave Spurs this summer

Hojbjerg, who has been a fixture in the first squad since joining the team in 2020, has been forced to accept a bit-part position under Ange Postecoglou.
During the previous season, the Danish international made 39 appearances for Spurs, the bulk of which came off the bench. During the year, he played 1509 minutes, averaging barely 38 minutes per contest.

According to reports from Football.London and the print edition of The Daily Star, he has been told he can leave Spurs this summer. A number of clubs are interested in the central midfield player.

Thus far, Hojbjerg has been linked to Galatasaray (Sabah via Sport Witness), Fulham (GiveMeSport), Atletico Madrid (Daily Mail), Napoli (Corriere dello Sport), and Fenerbahce (Takvim).

Rossoneri linked with Hojbjerg

AC Milan is the most recent team to join that list; this summer, the Serie A powerhouses are being called a “interesting opportunity” for the Rossoneri.

Corriere dello Sport (via Football-Italia) reports that Hojbjerg is “keen to depart” Spurs and may match Milan’s desired profile.

Milan is rumoured to be looking for a “physical midfielder” who can fortify their defensive. Although Hojbjerg’s agent has communicated with several teams, such as Juventus and Napoli, Milan is the one who is aware of his availability.

Apparently, the €20m (£16.9m) price tag is within Milan’s financial “parameters” and an approach could well be made in the “coming months.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Milan would be a fantastic fit for Hojbjerg. He would succeed at any Serie A team, in fact, as the style of play in Italy is a perfect fit for him. After Euro 2024 is over, I think Hojbjerg will depart Spurs rather fast.
