ATLÉTICO BOSS SIMEONE CALLED INTER MILAN STAR “EVERY DAY,” CLUB PRESIDENT CONFIRMS.

Today, Diego Simeone, the head coach of Atletico Madrid, will provide some insight into his efforts to sign Nicolò Barella.
Tomasso Giulini, the president of Cagliari, provided the information, stating that it was returned in the summer of 2019.

For his part, Barella is undoubtedly regarded by many as one of the best midfielders in world football right now.

The 27-year-old has an exceptional blend of skills both inside and outside the ball, including world-class work ethic, excellent technique, an eye for a pass, and tenacity in the tackle.

For the last five seasons, it has been Serie A giants Inter Milan who have benefitted from such talents, after Barella opted to link up with the Nerazzurri in 2019.

As previously mentioned, Atlético Madrid was also keen to recruit the Italian international before all of that.

This Thursday, Cagliari president Tomasso Giulini addressed Barella’s departure from the team during an interview with Unione Sarda.

As much as the all-action midfielder does in his continued pivotal position for Italy in the 2024 European Championship.

Giulini continued by disclosing that Barella would have spent the previous five years working at the Metropolitano instead of San Siro if the previously stated Diego Simeone had his way:

“In 2019, Atletico Madrid made a move for Nicolò Barella; daily calls were made by Diego Simeone to try and convince him to join the team.”
