When Everton are expected to announce Dan Friedkin takeover

In terms of several facets of its organization, Everton is a club that is now in transition.

But it seems like this summer is going slowly because their 2024–25 Premier League schedule has only recently been made public, and their kit hasn’t even been officially released despite leaks.

Their lack of transfer action, which is inevitably hampered by their numerous budgetary constraints and a pending takeover, is the best example of this.

The main annoyance is understandable, but if the planned takeover proceeds, it might be resolved in the upcoming months.

When Dan Friedkin will take over Everton

Consortials supported by Saudi Arabia and an Evertonian-led rival appeared determined to unseat one other as the new owner, and neither seemed to be paying attention to Dan Friedkin slinking through.

The American, who acquired AS Roma in 2020, is currently the clear favorite and is predicted to win the contest.

But even though it has been well-documented for a while, there hasn’t been any progress made in that area.

Fortunately, an announcement is anticipated in the next few days according to a report from the Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness).

“It will likely take a few more days to sort out Dan Friedkin’s potential takeover at Everton before an announcement can be made,” the article states.

Then they assert that before an announcement is made, “technicalities” and the “very last stages of due diligence” need to be resolved.

The sooner the better for Everton

As previously noted, this prolonged takeover is making sure that nothing moves at Everton.

Since Friedkin is not legally in charge and Farhad Moshiri appears to no longer care about the Toffees, major choices actually can’t be made until the new owner takes over.

Their current state can best be described as limbo, so it’s nice to finally have an update on a timeline.

Especially given how long fans were forced to wait nearly ten months just to see 777 Partners fail in their attempts to acquire Everton.

Hopefully, for both Friedkin’s and the club’s sake, this is a far more streamlined process. His £4.8bn net worth should help with that, though.
