OVERCOMING THE MAVERICKS, THE BOSTON CELTICS CAPTURED THEIR 18TH NBA CHAMPIONSHIP.

 

In Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks, winning the series 4-1 and taking home the NBA championship trophy.

The team has already won 18 NBA Championships, the most since the 2007–08 campaign.

The Boston Celtics have surpassed the Los Angeles Lakers, who have 17 NBA titles, to take the record for the most titles won by a team.

The Celtics have been within striking distance of another championship on multiple occasions since their 2008 triumph led by the big three of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett.

In 2009–10, they made it back to the NBA Finals, however they were defeated by the Lakers in a closely fought series.

Since then, Boston has advanced to six conference finals, including the NBA Finals in 2021–2022, but it has never been able to complete the
