Vancouver Whitecaps want to make a $610,000 bid for Marc Leonard, a Brighton player connected to Wrexham.

According to a source, the Vancouver Whitecaps are planning to make a bid for Marc Leonard, a Scottish midfielder, from Brighton in the Premier League.

The Brighton midfielder, who spent 2023–24 on loan at League One team Northampton, is reportedly being pursued by the Whitecaps, according to the Daily Record.

The Scottish midfielder is expected to receive a $610k offer from the Western Conference MLS team, according to the report.

Leonard’s five goals and six assists at the end of the previous season drew interest from foreign transfer agents.

According to the same report, Oxford United and Birmingham City are among the other clubs interested in signing the former Scotland U21 international.

Additionally, Leonard has been connected to a summertime relocation to Wrexham. The Scottish midfield player is being tracked by the team owned by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.

On Saturday night, the Whitecaps and Portland Timbers will play in Major League Soccer. The cross-border rivals will square off in the Cascade Cup matchup between the Western Conference opponents.
