Set to receive windfall of around £40 million, Aston Villa – Stefan Borson

Aston Villa expects to bring in £400 million by 2027, and they will receive a payout of £40 million from their Champions League campaign the following season.

According to financial expert Stefan Borson, who spoke with Football Insider confidentially, Villa probably increased their earnings by £50 million in 2023–2024 in accordance with Chris Heck’s financial strategy.

Heck, the head of commercial operations at Villa, stated to The Telegraph that the team hopes to bring in £400 million by 2027.

According to their most recent 2022–23 financial statements, the Birmingham company brought in £217 million, a considerable increase above the £178 million they brought in between 2021–2022.

Last season, Unai Emery’s team surprised the odds by finishing fourth in the Premier League and qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in the team’s history. They also advanced to the semifinals of the Europa Conference League.

According to Borson, Villa is now expected to increase its revenue by £100 million over the course of the next two accounting periods.

Over two seasons, Aston Villa’s revenue is expected to climb by £100 million.

“They want £50 million in additional revenue annually, as explained by Chris Heck,” Borson told Football Insider.

“So far, they seem to have done alright on that, and they probably added an extra £50 million last season.”

“So, after making £217 million last year, they’re probably on course to make roughly £255 million this year—they’re on track to add £40–£50 million.

“A strong Conference League run doesn’t generate large sums of money, but it has likely generated about £15 million, and their improved league standing will increase that e

Even if they don’t advance past the group round, they will undoubtedly make at least £40 million from the new Champions League format the following season.

“So you can see how they’ll continue on course for the upcoming season as well.”
