Kosta Nedeljkovic, a recent arrival to Aston Villa, is getting ready for his first season with the team.
Prior to the start of preseason next month, Kosta Nedeljkovic, the latest addition to Aston Villa, has been sighted in the team’s training uniform.The Villa players are presently enjoying a well-earned vacation after leading the team into the Champions League under Unai Emery last season. That is, at least the ones who haven’t been called up to represent their nations this summer.
In order to accommodate the ongoing Euro 2024, the new season begins in late August. Young defender Nedeljkovic is getting a head start on preparations before he joins up with his new teammates later this summer, while many players are presently on vacation or lounging at home.
Nedeljkovic agreed to a £10 million deal in January to transfer permanently to Villa Park, but he spent the second part of the previous season on loan at Red Star Belgrade. Unfortunately, an injury sustained in the winter severely limited Nedeljkovic’s time left with the Serbian team. In May, he did get the chance to say goodbye and return to action a little later than expected.
Nedeljkovic, nevertheless, is now hoping to catch up ahead of schedule this summer. He’s seen at the gym getting ready for the first of his five-year contract while sporting a Villa training shirt and Red Star shorts. Before the season opener against West Ham, Nedeljkovic will fly to the US with the Villa team for their preseason tour. They will then play Athletic Bilbao in Walsall and Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
Nedeljkovic, who is only eighteen but has Champions League experience with Red Star and a season-long match against Manchester City under his belt, will likely compete for a starting position at right-back under Emery, though fellow defender Matty Cash is also interested in the position this summer.
