Man Utd send message to Everton over rejected Jarrad Branthwaite bid

Manchester United reportedly advised Everton to lower their asking price for Jarrad Branthwaite.

Everton rejected Manchester United’s initial offer of £45 million for the 21-year-old last week.

Branthwaite is interested in joining United and has already agreed on personal conditions.

However, Everton are demanding a fee in excess of £70 million for Branthwaite, who impressed in his first full season with the club last season.

According to The Mirror, United are maintaining their first bid for Branthwaite and have advised Everton to be more reasonable with their price.

United have a transfer budget of roughly £35 million this summer, but they may increase it by selling Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, and Casemiro.

United are reportedly willing to walk away from a deal with Everton, who believe the Branthwaite sum is comparable to the £80 million United paid for Harry Maguire in 2019 or the £75 million Chelsea spent on Wesley Fofana in August 2022.

United are considering Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo, and Lille’s Leny Yoro, who is also being pursued by Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Erik ten Hag’s side is interested in signing Bologna attacker Joshua Zirkzee, whose transfer to AC Milan has been delayed.

Everton, meanwhile, has already admitted that they will have to sell players this summer in order to meet Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

Last season, Everton were fined eight Premier League points for two different financial regulation violations.
