Former Chelsea player Christian Pulisic says the perfect footballer would be a mix of Lionel Messi and Darwin Nunez

It isn’t just the European Championship that Liverpool players are involved in this summer.

In an attempt to cap off the season with a win, the Reds have ten players competing at the Euros in the coming month.

In addition to the European competition, there’s the minor issue of the Copa America being held in the US.

There will be four Liverpool players competing.Luis Diaz will play a major role in Colombia’s prospects, while Alisson Becker will keep goal for Brazil and Alexis Mac Allister will be aiming for back-to-back titles for the holders Argentina.

The most controversial player on the Liverpool team playing in the United States is without a doubt the last one. However, Christian Pulisic seems to be a fan of Darwin Nunez of Uruguay.

Christian Pulisic pays Darwin Nunez compliment

Nunez had an incredibly challenging season finale with Liverpool. His future at Anfield was called into question after he failed to score in his last ten outings.

However, it has been an entirely different situation with the national squad. Nunez, who scored three goals for Uruguay earlier this month, has now netted goals in each of his last five games for the South American team.

Each striker would be happy of their record of eight goals in those games.

Nunez might very well be among the stars of the show as Uruguay, led by Marcelo Bielsa, prepares to compete in the Copa America.

Christian Pulisic, a former winger for Chelsea, has now admitted that. When playing for his country, Pulisic will be aiming for his own glory.

The AC Milan player, who has been connected to Liverpool throughout the years, was challenged by GOAL USA to create his ideal player profile ahead of the competition by combining characteristics of Copa America competitors.

For Pulisic, the left foot was an obvious choice. I mean, Messi, alright? I never even considered that,” exclaims the 25-year-old. When asked to choose the ideal right foot for his imaginary football team, Pulisic chose Liverpool’s No. 9.

He remarks, “Darwin Nunez just scored three goals.” “Well, I’ll accompany him.” The winger continued, choosing himself for football IQ, Yunus Musah for strength, and Vinicius Jr. for quickness.

Darwin Nunez set for crucial tournament

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, it has already been decided that Nunez will stay at Liverpool next season.

Despite Nunez’s dismal season finale, Arne Slot is apparently moving ahead with him as a major player.

Liverpool could therefore really use the 24-year-old to step it up throughout this competition. After that, it might serve as a launchpad for a fruitful season in Merseyside.

Thus far, it appears that Nunez is enjoying his time in Uruguay. He has played a major role in their recent great play.

If things go wrong in America, though, Darwin may have a harder time getting back up at Liverpool.

Nunez has a busy summer ahead of him; hopefully, he can live up to Pulisic’s selection.
