For just £16.8 million, West Ham could recruit a “promising” striker compared to Jamie Vardy.

According to a recent rumour, West Ham United could now buy a “promising” striker who is comparable to Jamie Vardy for just £16.8 million.

Being one of the Premier League’s busier teams during the summer transfer window, the Hammers have already acquired the outstanding Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme.

After missing out on Europe the previous season, Julen Lopetegui has been called in to lead David Moyes’ team.

The club is expected to make significant investments in him during this transfer window, and a new speculation has surfaced that links a striker to the London Stadium.

West Ham could sign Simon Banza for £16.8m

The Portuguese publication O Jogo claims that Simon Banza, a striker for Braga, is a target for West Ham United.

The 27-year-old had an incredible season in Portugal’s top division last year, scoring 23 goals and dishing out five assists to lead his team to fourth place.

Like Jamie Vardy, Banza has a £33.7 million release clause in his contract, but astonishingly, it’s been reported that he may depart for as little as £16.8 million.

Only AS Roma and Marseille are monitoring the eight-cap DR Congo international.

West Ham will need to offer a big salary

Banza has interest from the Middle East, therefore West Ham will probably need to pay him a lot of money to get him to sign.

The Hammers could have to go elsewhere because, according to sources, he would be willing to turn down offers from Europe in order to move to Saudi Arabia.

East London club members are in for a pivotal few weeks.
