Following “verbally agreeing” to a deal, a Saudi Pro League team will approach Newcastle United about signing the club record.

After paying a club-record £21 million to join Newcastle United in 2019, Miguel Almiron has made over 200 appearances.

According to sources, Al-Shabab, a Saudi Pro League team, plans to reevaluate their summertime approach for Miguel Almiron.

It is believed that Newcastle United turned down a January approach for the Paraguay international. The Magpies were in no position to sell at the time and were going through the height of their injury crisis.

Now that the season is over, they would be more willing to let go of the winger. Almiron turned thirty lately, and he hasn’t been able to build on his purple patch from the last campaign.

In that unforgettable victory over Paris Saint-Germain, he broke the deadlock, but in 2023–24, the highlights were few and far between. Since his club-record arrival five and a half years ago, he has only scored 30 goals in 209 games, which is deemed insufficient for Newcastle’s future.

Almiron’s unparalleled work ethic has kept him a beloved figure on Tyneside, but many feel it’s time to move on. After the Saudi-backed ownership, Newcastle has not signed a single player, with the exception of young acquisition Yankuba Minteh, who plays as a right-sided attacker.

NewcastleWorld is aware that signing one is Eddie Howe’s main priority this transfer window, but there are concerns regarding Jacob Murphy’s potential as well. GiveMeSport claims that after “verbally agreeing” to a £25 million deal earlier this year, Al-Shabab would reportedly revive their interest in Almiron.

The 30-year-old is rumored to be eager to fight for his spot at Newcastle the following season. Almiron has two years left on his contract, which he signed eighteen months ago, and is now serving with Paraguay in Copa America.
