Chelsea may lose to Brighton as negotiations for a £30 million attacker with Premier League experience begin.

Brighton is reportedly in talks to sign Leeds player Crysencio Summerville, who has previously been connected to Liverpool and Chelsea, according to the Metro.

West Ham, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Fulham are all monitoring the winger’s situation.

Daniel Farke’s squad may face severe financial consequences as a result of losing out on promotion and the wealth that accompanies it. The team may now need to sell some of its most precious assets.

And it seems that Summerville might be the first player to go in the fire sale; rumour has it Brighton has started talking to Leeds for the 22-year-old, who could fetch up to £30 million.

With the announcement of the managerial appointment, the acquisition makes even more sense. The Dutchman would blend in well with Maresca’s favoured 4-3-3 system.

However, Chelsea supporters’ perspectives on the transfer rumours around Summerville are divided. The Dutch winger has been compared to Sterling during his heyday by some, while others see him as an ordinary player for an average price.
