‘Terrific’ Midfielder to Join Newcastle, It Is Said

Morgan Gibbs-White, a midfielder for Nottingham Forest, is a player Newcastle is contemplating signing.

In the summer transfer window, the Magpies appear to have an advantage over Tottenham for the 24-year-old.

A potential replacement for Michael Olise at Crystal Palace is Federico Chiesa, a forward for Juventus.

If Morgan Gibbs-White decides to leave Nottingham Forest this summer, journalist Dean Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Newcastle “would be the best-placed club” to sign him.

After an outstanding Premier League season, the 24-year-old has no shortage of fans, and there are still questions about his exit, according to Jones.

He suggests Newcastle have a slight edge in the race for Gibbs-White over Tottenham, who are among the clubs interested this summer.

The highly regarded midfield player, who made 37 league games and scored 15 goals, helped Forest escape relegation last season.

According to reports, Gibbs-White, who commentator Micah Richards called “terrific” during the previous season, is available this summer for about £40 million.

Jones says the 24-year-old would get along well with Alexander Isak, a striker for Newcastle, since the Magpies are eager to bolster their offensive options following a dismal campaign.

Eddie Howe’s team placed seventh in the league, was eliminated from the Champions League in the group round, and was not guaranteed any football in Europe for the upcoming campaign.

Newcastle Eye Gibbs-White Deal

Despite Tottenham’s interest, Jones tells GMS that Newcastle is “best-placed” to sign Gibbs-White this summer:

“There is still uncertainty about his future at Nottingham Forest, and if he does decide to leave, my suspicion is Newcastle would be the team most likely to recruit him.

Although Spurs are also being linked, I would lean somewhat in support of Newcastle at this early stage based on some rumours I’ve heard about their team.

“He would be such an intriguing signing in that Newcastle team, a lovely player to have, making inroads behind Isak.

“We know the priority for Newcastle is to find an attacker for the right side of the attack but I would still keep an eye on Gibbs-White and how his situation starts to open up.”

The attacking midfielder, who joined Forest from Wolves in 2022, is reportedly eyed as a replacement for Bruno Guimaraes, who was recently linked with a move to Manchester City.

Newcastle Consider Olise Alternative

Newcastle is still looking for a right winger this summer, and they are thinking about signing Federico Chiesa, a forward for Juventus.

The Italian might be offered for half as much as Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, who is being pursued by many Premier League teams, according to GMS sources.

Olise’s transfer to Newcastle is considered “very ambitious,” as the Frenchman is rumoured to have preferred a summer transfer to Manchester United or Chelsea.

Chiesa has suddenly emerged as Eddie Howe’s team’s “top option,” prompting Newcastle to look elsewhere for a forward while the London team is said to be in advanced talks with Olise.
