Newcastle United transfers: Midfielder Lucas De Bolle issued a farewell message ahead of his release from the club this summer.
At the end of the month, a number of long-serving academy players will be leaving Newcastle United. Lucas De Bolle, a 21-year-old who missed out on a competitive first-team appearance for Newcastle, will have spent nine years with the club through the academy. In November 2023, he was named on the bench for The Magpies’ 2-0 Champions League group stage loss against De Bolle made 26 appearances while on loan with Hamilton Academical in Scotland during the 2022–2023 season, scoring one goal. De Bolle posted a number of pictures from his time at Newcastle to Instagram when it was confirmed that he was leaving, writing, “After nine years my time at Newcastle has come to an end.” I have so many wonderful memories representing the club since I joined in 2015.I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone of the staff, players, and supporters who have supported and assisted me along the way. De Bolle, who earned two caps for the Scotland Under-21 team, and was a regular for the Under-21 team, depart Newcastle.
