Everton star Amadou Onana left exasperated as reporter calls him Andre in post-match interview

Amadou Onana was left visibly frustrated after a reporter called him ‘Andre’ in a post-match interview.

The Everton midfielder participated in Belgium’s opening game against Slovakia while representing his country at Euro 2024.

Ivan Schranz’s early goal gave his team a shocking 1-0 loss, even though Onana had a strong performance personally.

He was later seen conducting post-match interviews in the Frankfurt Arena’s media mixed area.

But as soon as he ended his chat with one reporter, another attempted to get his attention by referring to him as “Andre,” which is the first name of the Cameroonian goalie who also plays for Manchester United.

The 22-year-old appeared upset as he replied, “Andre is not even my name, mate, do you know what I mean?”

Onana made his fourteenth appearance for the Belgian national team before beginning to converse with another reporter.

On Monday night, following his second season at Everton, he participated in the entire 90 minutes of play against Slovakia.

Throughout the season, the midfielder made 37 appearances for the Toffees, tallying three goals and dishing out one assist.

Onana, though, might be about to leave Goodison Park, as rivals Arsenal and Newcastle in the Premier League are reportedly interested in acquiring him.
In order to clear the books in time for the upcoming season, Everton probably wants to trade him rather than Jarrad Branthwaite and Jordan Pickford.

Onana, however, will continue to concentrate on assisting Belgium in improving their group stage results at Euro 2024.

Their next opponents are Romania, who unexpectedly moved up to the top of Group E with a 3-0 victory over Ukraine.

Then, in their last game before the knockout stages—a stage they have reached in the previous two tournaments—Belgium takes on the latter.
