Aston Villa announce first summer transfer signing

The latest Aston Villa transfer news as the club complete their first summer signing

The transfer of 19-year-old defender Ethan Amundsen-Day to Aston Villa has been confirmed.

The FC Copenhagen young international now plays for Villa for an undisclosed sum. Amundsen-Day began his career at Fredrikstad FK in Norway and has played for the Danish powerhouses for the past three seasons.

The adolescent was born to an English father and a Norwegian mother in Leeds, England. He is returning to his native country with this transfer. Amundsen-Day demonstrated his flexibility as a left- and center-back in 50 appearances for the Under-19 squad.

“We look forward to working with him over the next few seasons as he will add more depth to our squads in preparation for the different competitions we will compete in at the Under-21 level.”

Villa and Everton are now in advanced negotiations regarding the midfielder Tim Iroegbunam’s sale. The 20-year-old played in nine Premier League games for Villa last year..
