Aston Villa affirms their contract stance for two talents in the wake of Alisha Lehmann’s potential move.

First-team players Jordan Nobbs and Dan Turner will remain at Aston Villa for the upcoming campaign, the club has revealed.

Villa has decided to utilize the option to extend the contracts of the two players until June 2025, which is a significant win for the Women’s Super League (WSL). Nobbs, who left Arsenal at the end of the season, joined Villa in January 2023 and under manager Carla Ward established himself as a fixture in the midfield.

With 43 games in claret and blue, the seasoned midfielder has six goals to his credit. A magnificent hat-trick against Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023 and an equally magnificent victory at Tottenham Hotspur back in February are two memorable moments.

Turner, meanwhile, joined Villa from Everton in the summer of 2022 and has been almost a constant in the defense. The 32-year-old, who spent the majority of her time with the Toffees as a left-sided defender, has made 51 appearances for Villa, the majority of them at center-half.

Turner was recently voted the WSL’s Goal of the Season for his amazing volley against Manchester City in December. With Ward’s departure, Villa will have a busy summer.

After joining the team from Birmingham City in 2021, the 40-year-old led the Villans to a strong fifth-place result in 2023 and is currently in charge of a seventh-place result this season. Alisha Lehmann, a forward for Switzerland, may also be leaving the West Midlands this summer as part of a huge double move with partner and standout player for the men’s first team Douglas Luiz.

As per the Italian publication Juventus News 24, Luiz himself expressed his desire for Lehmann to be a part of the transaction, which is now progressively becoming a reality.
