‘I’ll sign’: Player says he is not going to leave Everton this summer HITC

Everton is currently experiencing dread and gloom.

Everton are one of the Premier League’s biggest and best-supported clubs, but things have been bad for them for a long.

In previous years, the Toffees have faced relegation to the Championship. Everton’s takeover troubles continue, and there is a real prospect that star defender Jarrad Branthwaite may leave for Manchester United during the summer transfer window.

There is one silver lining, however. Ashley Young has stated that he plans to accept Everton’s offer.

Young joined Everton on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.

Ashley Young shares his Everton future plan

The 38-year-old former Manchester United star signed a one-year contract with an option for a further 12 months. In May, Everton announced that they offered a new one-year deal to Young, who has now said that he plans to put pen to paper and extend his stay at Goodison Park.

Young told talkSPORT that “we’re close to having everything resolved. There have been discussions over the summer. “It’s just about getting the fine details sorted now and I’ll sign that contract.”

Ashley Young will need to be a leader for Everton

Young is 38 years old and past his peak, yet he is still active and in great shape. Last season, the Englishman started 27 games and made four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Everton.

Young also made one start and two substitute appearances in the Carabao Cup for the Toffees last season.

He scored one goal in those games. Last season, the former United star played right defender, left back, and right wing for the Merseyside club.

Young is a very seasoned player who will have to lead the club next season. It could be another season in which the Toffees must struggle against relegation. Everton will need Young’s expertise to make it through.
