Everton to agree £50m+ Branthwaite transfer after ‘Cheeky’ development

Bryan King believes Everton and Manchester United will complete a £50 million deal for Jarrad Branthwaite.

The ex-Goodison scout believes the Toffees had every right to turn down the Red Devils’ initial bid for the centre-back.

According to The Athletic (14 June), Erik Ten Hag’s team made an initial approach of £35 million for Branthwaite.

Everton rejected the deal as “unacceptable” on June 14, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

However, King, speaking exclusively to Goodison News, believes a solution will be reached.

“I don’t think it was a mistake for Everton to reject the offer,” stated King.

“I believe it was a sneaky bid from Manchester United.

“I believe the ultimate arrangement will be £50 million plus add-ons. If he becomes a regular international, how many club appearances will he make, and so on.”

Will Everton sell Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United this summer?

No one anticipated Everton to accept United’s opening bid for Branthwaite.

The Toffees are looking for a high price for the 21-year-old, and £35 million clearly did not meet that bill.

However, United will undoubtedly return, and this might become a transfer story that lasts the entire summer.

It remains to be seen whether Branthwaite ends up at Old Trafford, but if the two teams can agree on a deal worth approximately £50 million, the Toffees would likely get fantastic value.
